The Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) is delighted to announce the presence of Russian sambo legend Marina Mokhnatkina at this week’s GAMMA Asian MMA Championship in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.
The seven-time World, two-time European, and ten-time Russian Champion Mokhnatkina will be at the 26-28th August competition in the role of GAMMA Athletes’ Commission Chairperson.

“It is a great pleasure for me to be in Kyrgyzstan at such an important event and in such an important position,” said Mokhnatkina. “GAMMA knows very well that the athletes are the heart of our sport and that our opinions matter, so as Athletes’ Commission Chair, I will act as the voice of all our athletes, whom I am very much looking forward to meeting this week.”
In total, 148 elite amateur MMA athletes from countries across Asia will take part in the Asian Championship.
They will compete across two divisions, mixed martial arts and Striking MMA in 32 weight classes, nine in each division for men and seven in each division for women.
“We warmly welcome Marina to the GAMMA Asian MMA Championship,” said GAMMA President Alex Engelhardt. “She is a well-known and well-respected MMA athlete with the intelligence, knowhow and grace to represent our athletes in the best possible way.”
The 33-year-old Mokhnatkina, who had her first professional MMA fight in 2016, currently boasts a 6-2 record.
