The Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) is proud to announce that Dutch start-up Join the Pipe has signed on as our sustainability partner for the upcoming GAMMA World Championships Amsterdam 2021.
Committed to a world with less plastic waste, Join the Pipe promotes the drinking of tap water using reusable bottles and refill stations. Join the Pipe uses the income it generates from this business to finance water projects and city clean-ups in developing countries.
All athletes at the World Championships, which will run from 23-27 March in the Dutch capital, will receive a Join the Pipe reusable water bottle that can be filled at refill stations located throughout the competition venue.
GAMMA works daily to ensure that our events and daily operations are as sustainable and environment-friendly as possible, in line with the objectives of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)’s Sustainability Report.
Sustainability is one of the three pillars of Olympic Agenda 2020, alongside credibility and youth. In line with its recommendations, the IOC has developed a Sustainability Strategy. Based on the responsibility of the IOC as an organization, as the owner of the Olympic Games, and as the leader of the Olympic Movement, it focuses on infrastructure and natural sites, sourcing and resource management, mobility, workforce, and climate.
