Earlier this month, GAMMA India successfully staged its first national championships of 2022 in Hyderabad, capital of the state of Telangana.

Live streamed by media partner Locker Room, the event saw 91 athletes battling for 18 gold medals, which were awarded across multiple weight divisions. The 47 MMA and 28 Striking MMA bouts featured a number of top-class clashes over three days of competition.

On the sideline of the event, a technical seminar was organised by GAMMA India technical director Andrew Canday. It resulted in 16 officials gaining certification following the completion of theoretical and practical components.

Thanks to an association with the Mahavir Group of Institutions (MGI), all athletes and coaches were provided with free board and accommodation.
There will be more GAMMA action next month in the country, when the All India Mixed Martial Arts Federation will stage the open national MMA Championships in Delhi from 17 to 19 June.
