Following a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the most prestigious African grappling event, the Tunisian Grappling Championships (TGC) returned in style on 20 and 21 May in Hammamet, Tunisia.
Founded in 2011 by Fethi Djebbi, and now organised by the Tunisian Committee of Shoot fighting MMA and Grappling, the event this year marked the 11th edition and brought together more than 90 elite fighters, both junior and senior, from Tunisia, Algeria, and France.

During the two days of competition, all the participants showed courage, competitiveness and proudly represented their respective countries. The open weight of the TGC was won by junior international champion and local star Ayoub “The Shooter” Djebbi.
This event was a great opportunity for the North African mixed martial arts community to come together and share their common passion and knowledge. The next edition will be organised in December 2023.
