The Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) has announced that the 2023 U18 World Championships will take place in Alexandroupolis in Greece at the end of September. In conjunction with the GAMMA Member in Greece, the Hellenic Wrestling Federation, young athletes will compete for global honours at the Michalis Paraskevopoulos Indoor Gym.

This will be the first GAMMA World U18 Championships following the successful U18 International Tournament which took place in the USA in 2022. More than 200 athletes from age 10 to 17 will compete in MMA competition across multiple weight categories in what will be the first international competition for many of these youngsters as they begin their MMA journey.

Speaking about the event in Greece GAMMA President Alexander Engelhardt said, “Giving our young athletes the opportunity to experience international competition is an extremely important part of their development and I hope that all athletes will enjoy the competition as well as taking the chance to learn from each other. I thank our Greek friends for their willingness to host this event and I am sure that it will be a great success.”
