The Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) and Israeli technology company, Ludus Alliance Technologies are pleased to announce a groundbreaking partnership aimed at revolutionising combat sports by using AI technology.
Together, they will create a brand-new competition category, Cognitive Athletics, based on Ludus’s digital platform that will connect the GAMMA community in an entirely new way, creating additional possibilities for engaging with new athletes, developing innovative training methods, and using technology to stage new, sustainable competitions while allowing athletes to remain in their respective clubs.
This innovative collaboration between GAMMA and Ludus will introduce a state-of-the-art technology that gives athletes of all ages the opportunity to participate in mixed martial arts training without having to engage in physical contact.
The core technology measures cognitive and physical abilities and makes it possible to compete according to indicators that have previously been unmeasurable, including reaction time and explosive power. Through this digital platform, athletes can still take part in competitions while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Alexander Engelhardt, President of GAMMA, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, “This is a fantastic opportunity for our entire community to grow as it will provide additional opportunities for our members and help GAMMA to expand its international reach while using the most up to date technology and exploring the fast-growing world of e-sports. We are very pleased to be working with Ludus Alliance on this innovative gaming experience project.”
Nir Yachin, CEO of Ludus Alliance Technologies and the developer of the Cognitive Athletics method, shared similar sentiments, saying, “We are thrilled to partner with GAMMA as it brings us one step closer to realising our vision for a cognitive athletic sports platform. Cognitive athletics is a digital-based sport that trains both the body and the mind. Our goal is to provide an engaging and safe avenue for individuals to participate in MMA training without physical contact, allowing them to experience the joy of competition while mitigating potential harm.”
The collaboration between GAMMA and Ludus Alliance Technologies will enable MMA athletes worldwide to access a new type of tournament without having to leave their local clubs. An additional benefit is the ability for coaches to take advantage of remote training possibilities by using the Ludus platform.
GAMMA is the first international sports organisation to use this new technology and the partnership caters to both seasoned MMA athletes seeking competitive opportunities, as well as newcomers to the sport looking to learn and train safely before engaging in more physical elements of the sport. By providing easy access to martial arts instruction through the cognitive athletics platform, individuals of any age or skill level can enter the world of MMA without prior knowledge or experience, continuing to make the sport accessible to all.
